There are loads of benefits to blogging, not least the fact that a blog will help to boost your web traffic and ultimately help you achieve more sales…

But why else is blogging such an awesome idea?

Well, firstly there are some pretty impressive statistics associated with blogging. According to marketing software company Hubspot, companies that blog get 55% more web traffic and 70% more leads than those that don’t. They reckon that B2B companies that blog generate 67% more leads per month than those that don’t.

Oh, and  65% of internet users read a blog.

benefits of blogging - thumbs up

So it looks like we should really all be blogging regularly.

Plus there are a host of other benefits to your business…

  • Better Search Engine Optimisation

Google loves websites that are regularly updated with fresh, well written, keyword-rich content. Blogging will help potential customers find your website more easily, because Google will list more pages and will re-index your site more frequently, meaning new pages you put online will appear in the search results more quickly. The end result? Your site will get a boost in Google rankings.

  • Help build your brand

A blog is a good way to build up awareness of your brand amongst potential customers.

  • Make you stand out from the competition

A blog gives you the perfect opportunity to show potential clients what makes you stand out from your competitors.

  • Position yourself as an authority

Show off your expertise on your blog and people will be more likely to use your services or buy your products. This also makes you more attractive to the media if and when media opportunities arise.

  • Develop your business’ personality

Blogging can be a great way for your customers to get to know you and allows you to show off more of your personality. If you want to show a lighter, more fun side of your business, blogging can be the perfect outlet for this.

  • Show that your business is up-to-date

A blog shows that you are aware of social media. It also provides you with a way to keep your website fresh and updated.

  • Check back next week for the second part of this three-part series on using blogging for publicity…
